Excellent, efficient service! Great value.
We're business owners in Atherton and have been enjoying great service and advice worth a lot more than they charge for years. Jason, Harvey, Nathan and Aiden are always there for us when we need them. We're so lucky to have them so close. If you're after a cheap and nasty padlock, go to the reject shop. If you want quality parts and brilliant service then head to Atherton Locksmiths. You won't be disappointed.
Great service from a very experienced and knowledgeable locksmith. if you are looking for a good quality locksmith i would highly recommend this place.
Professional prompt and great price :). Definitely recommend
I would like to share my experience at Atherton Locksmiths on the morning of 21 May 2018. Having been to Bunnings and not been able to find a 45mm padlock in the price range that I was looking for, I decided to try this business. When I entered a youngish man appeared from the back of the shop. I said I was looking for a 45mm padlock as I had no luck at Bunnings. He asked me what it was for and I told him. He then proceeded to reach behind him and took a padlock off the wall. As he was bringing the padlock over to the counter I said that I wanted something preferably for under ten dollars. He then let out a large Ha, which I can only describe as the same sound that George Costanza made when he was talking about laughing with his fiance, Susan Ross, parents. For those of you who are not Seinfeld aficionados, the sound was one of not only making fun of me but was both condescending and a very rude thing to do. He then said that the key was five dollars. I asked him how much for the (whole) padlock and he said twenty two dollars. I said that that was too much and proceeded to leave the store. On my way out, and to my back, he said good luck with that, sir. Again, a condescending and an arrogant comment to make. Under my breath I muttered what a f*%$ing attitude as I closed the door.As a way of explanation, if you look at padlocks at Bunnings they are broadly divided into generic, everyday, bronze-coloured locks and a higher end, stronger padlock with a few extra bells and whistles (hardened steel, plastic coating etc.). Naturally, you pay more for the latter. If you want 40mm or 50mm generic locks then you can expect to pay around twelve to eighteen dollars at Bunnings. The only 45mm lock I could find at Bunnings in Atherton was in the high end section and that was twenty dollars. Therefore, I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect to get a 45mm generic lock for around the ten dollar mark. So, the person I dealt with at Atherton Locksmiths was not only rude to me, the customer, but he was treating me like an idiot. Thanks to his atrocious attitude I will never, ever set foot in that store again (I have cut keys there before). I would encourage anybody who is reading this to also use my experience with this business to make an informed decision as to whether this business deserves your own business. I always find it amusing that they say give the local a go and then the local treats you like this. For the record, I would like to give this business ZERO stars for the way I was treated, but it would allow me to post this unless I gave it at least one star. Feel sorry for the star...
