I'm still sick three weeks going on four later.
It's the only hospital around for ages, yet they refuse to xray unless it's an emergency, because there is no protruding bone, they refuse to triage accordingly and will happily see those with a simple cold over someone with a break ..... Absolute joke. Even hospitals in small town of Laidley and Gatton would xray a suspected break..... My daughter has fractured her finger and the hospital discussed surgery, but nooo not this one, they don't even care someone is in severe pain after just driving over an hour for help. Not interested in treating, they are rude and flat out refuse to help but say they 'will look at it but not do anything'. Do they realize breaks can be severe even if a bone is not protruding. So over the lack of care at this hospital.
Absolutely poor service to the public.
Better off to goto Cairns.I had appendicitis last year. I was admitted on Saturday night, continued to decline until Monday when a doctor saw me. I was told I needed a ultra scan to determine what was wrong with me, which couldn't happen till Tuesday as they didn't do them Monday's. I was in agony all Monday and only given Panadol for pain relief. I was also told by a nurse that I needed to eat if I wanted to get better. At 12:00am Tuesday I was air lifted to Cairns base hospital and had emergency surgery, my appendix had ruptured inside me. The surgery took 5 hours to remove all of the ruptured appendix. I was told I was lucky to survive.I would never recommend anyone going to Atherton hospital. 0/5
Fast and friendly service from the doctor and nurse to suture my sons leg from a cut at lake Eacham. Nicest doctor we have ever met , and was so friendly explaining everything to my son , with the odd tale and joke to lighten the mood
